First run and first run with a gopro.:thumbsup: I see I need to mount the camera a little more forward to not get the cowl in there. On the last blast got her up to 85 just taking it easy with a 25 Trophy. I think rpms were at least 7000 in the last blast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Rm0K9u6ODo&feature=youtu.be

Hero 3 gopro Costco. Got it for Christmas. I was surprised it was not shaky because there was a little wind chop thats why I duct in beside the trees to were it blocked the wind. Cool how theres no wind noise I can see me trying alot of different angles and next time try some speed runs with the 28.
Ya pretty normal water levels Dave we had lots of snow in the mountains. Theres still 10 ft in some mountains around hear. Maybe now since its warmed up the melt will come and you guys can get some water south of hear.

Credit were its due Tex, Brian Harden above posts Brother Mark was building this motor for himself{he is a Marc Racing Tech} i Bought the GSE off Brian with no motor. knowing it would be hard to find a motor around my parts i asked Brian if he could find me a good motor for the Allison around SC. The only one at the time was his brothers. It was being assembled and we went sure if Mark would part with it but he did. Im so grateful he let me put it on the GS as part of the deal its been so reliable over the years i can believe it!! Once she was all rigged and ready to roll i flew to Charlotte rented a SUV and headed to Leesville to buy the Allison off Brian. He took me out on Lake Murry a few times and showed me how to drive her and i headed back to North Western Canada and waited for the Transport truck to bring her to Washington were I drove and brought her across the border home.
So basically it was the excellent build job of Mark im sure is why she has stayed together so long. And all the advice from Brian about warming her up to 100 before you step on it and if you know your going to hold her for longer than normal wot runs give her a little extra oil to keep her hydrated. The run at the end of the clip is about as long as i would ever hold it with that much trim. Thats about a mile and a half trimmed out. Im with you on pinning for real long runs trimmed all the way well over 7000 rpm with a steel bore motor and side pinned pistons. Thats asking for it.:cheers: 40/1 always and prop to 7200-7300 most times. i had a 26 off shore that would keep pulling to 7500. i would keep those pulls to a min again no longer than that last blast. your probably right about this making them last like there legendary for. It has 33cc heads on and ive tuned the fuel curve to allow more fuel to be fed at Mid range and WOT. Its the Little things that count..:D

i just stuck a low slightly curved one on top of the cowl at the lake on the raised ridge that goes down the middle.

Every wheel chopping rookie V bottom driver needs to watch this video so they can better understand the slight touch is all it takes to keep these things on the pad. Awesome video Whipper.

I will put in for a request of a run where you have a shot of the speedo and steering wheel to see your slight corrections. As a new GS owner with a one outing under his belt, I will take any good learning experience! I know day 1 on the water for me was the boat driving me. Even though I had talked to owners, read everything and watched videos, it will take time to get her to settle in and go. Had her up to 65 and then I started to wash the sides too much. What a blast to drive!

Now ya know that at 65 is were it starts so try and blast right past there. If you Slowly go to 65 then mash it and try and trim from there its harder than on your way past feeling her lift on the pad and try to counter steer. If your flip flopping just back off again and try again. If you back off to 45mph then mash the peddle at 65 you will feel the bow digging in asking you for more trim. Trim until the bow feels light and you'll blow past 65 to 70-75 instantly. Then your on on the pad. So thats the feeling. Slight steering inputs. Its hard to see my hands because im leaning over to the right my seat base is moved to the side quite a bit as a counter weight. My attempt of center steering. haha it looks uncomfortable but before i saw the video i never even noticed how much im steering to the side. Anyway same thing. If you look at the motor you can see it doesnt move much at all. Thats how small the movements are. The 3rd blast just before the last longer one I was going across the wind and ripples. That was the hardest way to stay level. But no big you will get it and eventually be the same. the key is haveing the hull balanced just right with counter weights. Most guys need 40lbs solo stuffed in the gunnel's beside the back seat. i have lead shot bags but when i was learning used to take some dumbells from home. An extra 10 and a 5lb. The one i dont use I put in the center under the back seat so it wasnt effected. You will find what works for your hull and your weight. {{That is probably the most important part of making it easy or hard.}}}
Ill try and figure out were to put it. i dont use a speedo its disconnected. i just have a little hand held mounted on the dash beside me to see speed. RPM,temps,water pressure i monitor the most. Im normally in the 85-90 range up hear at 2300ft. Sea level i could make more HP and see faster but really not chasing speed any more with the motor having so many years on it. i just want it to make it until I can get more HP soon i hope!!:smiletest: in another clip not near as clear I duct taped an old camera on the ski bar. it shows the hands better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sglrin_6Bw This was that camera setup. when My wife saw that i got a gopro for christmass!! haha http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/whipperr/Allisonoctober32013021_zpsaca6bd9a.jpg (http://s63.photobucket.com/user/whipperr/media/Allisonoctober32013021_zpsaca6bd9a.jpg.html)

I think I was under trimmed (no gauge), as the bow would dip when I accelerated harder at 40+mph. Did not want to over trim, so I played it safe. I did watch the engine cowl movement and it is slight. Seat time!
