Lifeline builds a hi-perf plearsure jacket now at about 295.00, roughly half of a full race jacket. Good bang for the buck.

that's the middle ground for what were doing. Your choices are, full on race jacket, the hi-perf as listed previous or junk. Look for something used in a race jacket. The pleasure ones are still pretty new, so you won't find many used. good luck

Mike if you dont mind a logo on them The Kawasaki web site had some great deals on jackets of all types. I bought two matching vest and they had great deals on wet suits & so on
Gordie's right............
$2 Helmet for a $2 Head
$10 Life Jacket for a $10 Body
I know ya noggin worth more than $2 and ya body worth more than $10.
Get a new one, or find a good used one. Lifeline or Security Race Products.
Check Security Race Products website and see what they have. I think they have some decent "lower cost" jackets.

One like this is $275.00 from SRP.............

Mike I didnt realize you were speaking of a race jacket or full performance type. The jackets I mentioned are recreation type only, for sking & such.

Mike, the mercury jackets are nice, neck support and stuff, they were like $80.00 if they still have them. also a company called slipery and Jet pilot make race jacket for jetskis that are verry good and rate for 100 plus mph.

How fast are you buzzing the lake?
If it's at high speed then physics don't change for your use.
I believe at the $100 level these will be good for staying on and keeping you afloat, but they don't provide any protection at all.
Consider it like wiping out on a bike (fill in the speed) but being thrown up too instead of only forward.
Asphalt is as hard as Concrete at these speeds.

crotch straps!
If not and you are spit out, and hit the water feet first, the jacket will come off.
I bought a spare a while back that I think I may have gooten from Overtons and was only about $80. or $90.
Very nice jacket especailly for the money.
Not quite as restrictive to omvement as a "real" vest but still had a skid collar, crotch straps and I think either 3 or 4 heavy duty straps.
(rated at 100 MPH's too)
A $40. ski vest at anything above about 40 is next to worthless depending how you hit the water.

If you looking for a nonrace jacket here is a good "100MPH" jacket made by Stearns and it has crotch straps.

I have the Mercury vest from Mercury (same as any other inexpensive jackets) and they are nothing more than ski vests with leg straps. I think bass fisherman could use them. I wear them in a boat with a full 5 point seat belt harness. Crash, unbuckle harness and float is all those vests are good for. Go fast get a really good jacket such as Lifeline. How much was your prop??? Don't cheap out on your own life.

C guy, the problem with that concept is you may not die. Could just get injured.
Broken ribs or punctured pancrease parts.
