I am in the process of removing the vst system on my '89 200 xri efi. I need to know what this motor needs for fuel pressure and volume to select a pump. Or if anyone has run an external pump on one of these, what pump did you use? I haven't looked at the motor since the fall, but can I use the pump that was taken off the side of the motor?

39 psi. Get a Bosch 984 pump and a Aeromotive fuel regulator for EFI systems.http://www.store.speedmaster79.com/images/Product/large/5879_1_.jpg

Looks like I found a Weldon pump, now just need to pick up a regulator. Thanks for the reply!

Weldons are good pumps. But Noisy and pull high amps. Good luck!!

That's what I've heard. My 2.4 has the 40 amp charging system, so with a good battery I'm hoping to be fine. The pump is free, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks again!

Ive got a Bosch 044 and am using a VW/Bosch adjustable regulator with no vacuum compensation set at 39 lbs. The Bosch pump pulls 10 amps or so and the Carter feeding the surge tank that feeds the Bosch pulls a good 4 amps. The last thing I worry about is fuel delivery. The surge tank setup gives me a couple of extra gallons of fuel too.
