I have seen plenty of talk lately regarding the 21 and 24 skaters but I am curious what they are worth, I have a good idea of the 24's but you don't see many 21's around.

I saw a 1987 with twin 2.5 Offshore mids (1995 carb motors) with CLE cases on a trailer. Any idea of what this is worth.

I have seen on this site racerx's 21 and that thing is beautiful all around. As far as I can see that particular one may very wel set the bar, any idea of purchase values on boats of that caliber?

Any opinions would be of interest.

Thanks in advance.

From my experience while shopping,

A mint one without power is $15 to $20 thousand

A good solid hull nicely rigged that maybe needs some work like interior recover or has some gel fade, but still a real good boat is worth $12 to $15 thousand.

You probably can't touch one for much under $10,000 in poor condition.

Just my 2 cents, not necessarily fact.

Ever not buy a boat that you wish you did? In March 1994 or so there was a 21 Skater with a 200 Merc for sale at my local boat repo-broker.

Was 2 or 3 years old if I recall right. Was blue and white, rigged by Ocean outboard. No trailer, in good condition, except for a hole in one sponson up front.

Annodized guages, clean interior. Now remember, the boat market sucked big time then.

I told a friend about it and he bought it. (Found out about the hole after he bought it.)
It went for $7,800 if I remember correctly. (No more than 8K boat and motor.) Last I heard it went to Louisiana and had removed the Merc and had a OMC V-8 installed.

I bought a theft recovery Pro-line 19 center console instead. You think I wish I had bought that skater instead?

I did however teach me that when the used boat market goes down, good deals are there. We aren't there yet, but there are almost 100,000 power boats on boat trader online now. Was 60K over the winter, about 82K on there last summer.

The blue and white one I missed has probably been sold 6 times since then for a higher price each time. >>>whacking self in head<<<

How did the Skater get a hole in the sponson? I can't imagine hull damage on a Skater, the damn thing is just built like it's made of steel.

$7800 is a great price even with the hole.
