Not sure what the problem is. Call their number and ask for Tom in sales. I recently bought two from them for my motors.
I can tell you this. They do not have them sitting on the shelf any more. Only plates for the 300xs's.
They really do not have a rep as far as I know. Bob and Kathy are good people.

Does IMCO offer an OB wing plate for dual balanced rams anymore?

I'd have to call. I just installed two new 300xs motors today with IMCO steering.

You can get the Capilano or the Charlyn power assisted helm.

Do you know what type of Charlynn open center helm to use? Will it work with a Verado pump constantly running?

I'm not sure which Charlyn, but I know the pumps run continuously. I put one in a 30ft Liberator with the IMCO power assist.

I would be carefully with running a verado pump on a single opti. With the 55 amp alternator it may not keep up with the draw and will give low voltage alarms. If u run mostly cruise and higher rpms u will be ok. Any long idling and u will see battery voltage drop down below 11v

How many amp is 300 Verado alternator?

The Verado alternator is 70A, and you can hear the engine drop from the load of the variable speed power steering pump. The Verado pump senses load, and speeds up, runs slower if not needed.

Is larger alternator possible on opti

Hi Glen, According to the Seastar owners manual , Max current draw is 50 amps-- typical current draw is 3 amps. The wiring harness it comes with utilizes #10 wire. Hope this helps. My pump is a PA1315-2. Bob Cruse.

Excellent point and others have experienced this as an annoying problem.

A 300xs alternator lists at 60AMP and the Verado 300 list at 70AMP.. Is there that much of a difference?

I am running no music, etc.. Just a vessel view, one GPS Speedo and this pump.. I plan on using a lightweight lithium 1000CCA or better race car style battery.. Minimal idle but its unavoidable in some situations

Are there going to be any adverse affects of buying a high output alternator, buying a replacement alternator and having it rewound for higher output, etc?

I believe the IMCO power assist pump draws 66amps at peak.

Marty at Diamond Marine can probably order it for you, or call Tom at Latham like someone previously said. I was just there last week getting a leaky ram repaired. It's not cheap but I sat in Tom's office twice and had him explain the bleeding process to me, some info on the ram and my setup, talked one-on-one with the tech who repaired the ram, and the ladies in the office were pleasant too. Turn around time was like 2 days.

Glenn, My Verado pump uses a 50 AMP fuse which should be sized at least 125% of the full load (start-up) amp draw, which would be 40 amp maximum amp draw at START-UP. Running load will be a fraction of the 40 amp load. I know that I am running two Opti's, but I have limped back for approx. 30 minutes on one engine with the power steering running after an engine failure with NO issues at all! I think that you are safe with the Verado pump and one opti, just make sure that your batteries are topped off before your runs so that your alternator does not have to try to charge batteries and run the pump at the same time. Does anyone know how to wire this Verado pump? It gets hot and ground and also has a secondary circuit that has to be switched on and off? Anyone have an idea?

If you can look at a Verado power steering priming harness, you'll get the idea. The Verado power steering system has a wake-up mode for 5 seconds, then it is ready to use. As previously posted, it also senses pressure, and operates at a lower speed until it sees a pressure drop (steering demand), it will then speed up. I've wired one these up in a track car, it works great. If you do choose to wire them together, the pump takes longer to get to full speed and the steering can be sluggish around the dock, so it does get to operating speed faster if you do separate wake and pump switches. Doesn't Merc have a kit to run this with the OptiMax. Also, the main power feed is off one of the Mercury "cube" fusible links, and you do not want to connect jumper cables to it. Want to know how I know?:D

You want to make sure you install it with the "quiet hose" kit. Sorry, I don't have the p/n, I'll see if I can find it. It keeps the rest of the system from "ringing" and transferring the noise up the hose. It may come standard now, but originally it did not. Also, only use the oil recommended, or it will not bleed and the system will be sluggish regardless.

I think it will work great on your Argo, I'm putting it in my Eliminator. Just remember that you need very little input to make it work now with the power assist. I've seen guys over-correct on pad boats and make things worse. What you do lose is that resistance you used to feel with normal hydraulic. Now you have to use the ass-o-graph, you'll get used to it, but it is worth noting it is quite quick on a fast boat.

Can't wait to hear how she runs, keep us posted.

Aggie, I left you a PM, call me to discuss. The info from Hydroscreamin is all correct. However I did not use the "quiet hose" and is quiet.
