Hey,

Where are the Durangos? They pull the STV euroski's real good, especially with the new alien hood style covering the powerhead.

Hey that's what I got too, flame red 2001 R/T Durango. Goes nice except for it spark knocks awfull. Got plenty of power, but the best mileage I get is 11.8. How about yours?

Hey Helmut,

I've been out of town. Selling the Euroski and just picked up my allison grandsport. It's Fast Eddie's old boat. It's a 1993 but could probably pass for brand new. I've never seen a boat that's used look that good.

The durango I have is blue. Has the 5.2 liter(should have got the 5.9) and pulls my rigs just fine. Drove from Peoria, IL to St. Cloud, MN on monday with the allison in tow (no engine). Drove about 80 MPH the entire way thru Iowa and MN. With the air on, the little fuel mileage gauge said I was getting 13-14 MPG.

How's the Euroski running. I really liked mine, but thought I'd try something new. May have to sell the durango now. It's the wrong color, as the allison is RED!

:) :) :) I got a 2001 Durango with a 5.9 motor when I was in Charlotte over Thanksgiving. It is Patriot Blue and had 80,000 miles on it. On the trip back to JERSEY the best milaege I could get was 13.2 mpg. I had my friends at IDA AUTOMOTIVE, in Morganville, N.J. hook up their PERFECT POWER computer module and we ran it on his chassis dyno. We baselined the truck @ 186 rear wheel hp with 254 ft pounds of torque. With the PERFECT POWER unit in place I went up to 206,7 hp @rw and picked up an extra 54 ft pounds of torque. After I put close to 600 miles on the Durango, I found that my mileage had gone up to 14.8 mpg on the highway. My mpg stayed about the same around town, but a 1.5 mpg increase on the road was great since I'll be doing a lot of towing. Ray Bohacz, a photojournalist with many magazine articles and an HP BOOKS on TUNING ACCEL/DFI 6.0 Programmable Fuel Injection was impressed enough with the numbers to do an article for MOPAR Magazine which should be coming out in the next 2 to 5 months. Keep an eye out, I'm really happy with the results.:) :) :)

wow, this is an old thread. That durango I had was a lemon. I got all my money back after about a year of trouble. Went back to ford.

Helmut

I just happened to see this thread also. I dumped my Durango about a year ago. The transmission was going at 50,000 miles. Never pulled anything heavy........just a two place snowmobile trailer and my STV or Allison.

Bought a Yukon Denali. Love it.

I must have **** luck. I bought a 2003 expedition (5.4+tow pkg)after that durnago in july of 02 and blew the tranny after cranking it down to jasper last october. it only had 15Kmiles on it.
Ford service told me I shouldnt tow in over drive. I said to myself... no maybe I shouldnt have had the cruise set to 95mph:D. Hills and overdrive, bad combo.
