Modified 2.5 200 HP Mercury makes 242.7 HP. We have several of these engine on the water and they have proved to be reliable and low maintenance engines. Excellent for bass boat or high performance applications.
I have 1 2.5 carbed 200 hp Mercury which makes 242.7 HP and has the following:
20 inch midsection with solid mounts, inner liner removed and exhaust reliefs drilled as on a 2.5L 260.
lower unit has been gone through and has Bob's low water pick up installed
Engine has had cooling modifications as on HP models, exhaust chest cut, reed cages cut, plastic reeds, heads cut for pump premium, ports matched and other mods and make an honest 242.7 HP on our dyno.
Has new style after market "ALIEN " cowling
Has been totally taken apart and repainted
Many other additions such as plug wires, breather assemblies ect: These are newly fabricated engines and have under 3-4 hours of dyno time
