hey will 2003 optimax exhaust plate and tuner work with that mid. the bolt pattern and midsection looks the same

nope, different tuner and water tube set up, look at the center photo, if you put a short DBR style tuner or the like you can get away with it, will need to mod the tube alignment area also notice that the water tube opening is smaller than late model optimax stuff

will it work with a 99 3.0 250 efi? I have a 25 inch motor on my fishing boat that I would like to put on my virage.

i would guess it is very likely it would be correct, however i have not taken apart every 3litre model, if you drop your gear case and it looks the the photos posted it will be good.

Mercury part number for the 250efi 3 liter and the 250 opti 3 liter are the same. The can or called driveshaft house by mercury should work on efi or opti since they are the same. I have used them on both. The exhaust plate is a little different but fits both cans and both motors. I have a 250 efi on an opti exhaust plate on my Key Largo just had to plug the compressor water line outlet on exhaust plate. JMO
