I can machine these to top guide for $250.00 jeff Jeff, Do you machine only the bottom portion of the rod by the crank journal?

I can do both ends if needed, rods ground on a surface grinder, if crank end is .710, only piston end will need to be done to make top guided.

material must be removed from the bottom if not it then becomes bottom and top guided the friction from trying to be guided from boths end would cause lots of trouble

top guided rods are .710 on both ends, but there were some big rods that were .710 on crank end and .810 piston end, if this is the case only one end has to be done, have done many sets, all the 2.4 big rods were.810 on both ends, in the early 90s the first 2.5 race motors had .710 at crank and .810 on wrist pin with spacer for molley pistons. by changing wrist pin end to .710 you can now use them on the newer top guided pistons with thin wrist pin washers.
good luck on the sale

that is common knowledge to any experienced motor builder who has been around and had these rods these i believe were from a BP (earlier model ) which are 812 both ends Jay smith cuts these rods for 150 ready to go
