SOLD!!!!

I have a 3 liter TorqueMaster housing that came off 250xs with only 40 hours on it. I plugged the top 5 holes which enabled it to run 1 inch higher and have more water pressure. The top holes were tapped to a 1/4-20 tread size, I inserted stainless plugs with high temp Lock Tight, then faired it over with MarineTex and painted it with zinc chromate primer. I was going to paint the entire housing with black paint but I thought it would be better for a buyer to see the condition of the original factory paint. Notice the skeg has never run aground and still has the original factory paint on it. Any scratches are from being moved around my garage and shed. My boat is too fast for a TorqueMaster so we swapped the guts to a new SportMaster housing. This housing would be perfect for any boat running in the 60's to low 80's.

PRICE DROPPED TO $250 plus shipping. It has been kicking around my shed and garage for too long, it is time for it to stop collecting dust.

I am quite surprised I still have this for sale. Normally I can't keep something for more than a week when I post it.

I have purchased 2 since this post has been on here and both with all internals (gears blown) for under $500 shipped. I think you should probably come down a bit since it has been modified as well? Now if it was a Sportmaster 3.0L for under $1000 I would take it off your hands ASAP!

What was your water pressure at different speeds with only 3 holes open?

The water pressure actually increased and let me run a full inch higher on the jack plate. Remember a torquemaster case also has holes on the front of the bullet so it gets plenty of water.

I swapped out the guts to a sportmaster case because as I got everything dialed in, my boat became too fast for this case.

This is the perfect gear case for a boat that runs 60 to 80 mph. Under 80mph a torquemaster with the top holes plugged will actually run faster than a sportmaster. Over 80 you have to go to a sportmaster or put a nose cone on it because of blowout. For applications over 80mph this is a great case to put a nose cone on.

It had only 40 hours since new when I did the swap, so it is in great shape.

Only the new torque master has holes on the nose. The new style has the big shaft and only has 3 holes on the strut (sides).

I'm wondering if you have a fleet master here?
The fleet master pictured below also has 4 water intakes in the nose.

Of course I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.

Look carefully at the 2nd picture I posted and you can see the holes in the front of the bullet.

It looks like it has a torque tab built in so it's probably not a fleetmaster.

Sorry to muddy up your thread.

Yes, it has a torgue tab, you can see it in the 4th photo.

I've been on BBC boards a while. First post here. I am trying to buy used internals from someone on BBC. If that pans out, I'd be interested in your case. I live in Lake Worth, FL so, I can pick up.
