Several months ago there was a post that started something like... "best thing I ever bought" or something like that. It was a small tube of stuff to put on rubber to preserve it. Comments were all good and how it keeps seals and impellers flexable. I did all sorts of search and cant find the name of the stuff. What is it?

Take the impeller out of the gearcase. Lay it on the bench till spring. If ya want to do anything more, perhaps silicone spray, however. No one knows the long term effects of silicone on the bonding "glue".... may not matter as you'll be changing it every two years anyways.

the 20 bucks and 20 minutes it takes to change is a no brainer.

roadkill I use silicone grease on my scuba O-rings and rubber zipper seals. Buy the "food service" certified sil grease as it is pure with no solvents. Keeps them supple and stops them from drying out and cracking. It comes with my NOS OMC water pump kits I have for my older motors. You can obtain the good stuff at a dive shop. Hope this helps. Gary

Pennzoil makes a spray called super slick. Only one I have seen that says safe for use on O rings. I use it on my o-ringed dirt bike chains. And just about any thing else that moves.

Snowmobile calls for MolyKote 111 for seals - but it ain't cheap!
5 Oz tube was $50 Canadian Pesos.
The write up on the website says safe for O rings etc.
Like most above, remove for the off season, or better yet replace every spring!

Yep! Remember the thread too. Been using this for impellers and O-Rings 25 years too, and zero problems. $20.
