I got a 72 switzer hugger (16 foot V bottom) weight unknown. going to run a 74 150 merc. hull is in good shape. going to fix dings in bottom ,repaint, and make a pad. thinking of making pad out of wood and glassing to bottom.any suggestions on matterial, adhesives and glassing products, and technic would be greatly apreciated. also what dimensions for pad and any idea what top speed might be. want it to handle resonably predictable. last year stock hull and a 115 inline merc, 4 inch set back, prop shaft 3 inch below transom, 2 batteries 13 gal of gas and wife 45 mph and pulled a guy up on one ski. want to make it a hot rod and use the 115 and old parts to put on something else for fishing and skiing.

Is the vee rounded? My Checkmate is a sharp vee, and I needed to use a bow lifting prop on my inline, a Laser II 20p, to get it out of the water.

Here is a simple diagram, most say use the green mod to enlarge the strakes.
