I had one when I was 12 had a 72 70 hp was fun boat ran about 40 mph what agreat motor wish I still had it just for the cool factor
I told him maybe 45 on a cool day with a solo driver.
now I know how to make my boat faster ,just kick off the skegs wow!

Never herd of 5 gal tanks... sure look like the 6 gallon ones Walmart sells.

I have several 5 gallon tanks from various makers in the 1960's. It used to be common. Merc tanks from the 60's held about 5 3/4 gallons because you were supposed to add oil and have expansion space above the liquid. We used to fill them to the top so customers thought the Mercs were actually using a little less than they were.
the price on the skegless cle on ebay just went up

Hey, I went to see the boat, and the add didn't mention the 300 shot of Nitrous. The flames kinda give away "Sleeper" but watch out SOB V hulls there may be a new top speed contender this year to bump the Tuff 21 off its podium. A lil set up and I see a new winner.
Notice that the classic Detroit 2stroker lent its style to the new new Evinrude
