I am looking to buy or trade(plus) for a new 200ROS. I know it is a little late but I am hoping one will turn up. I have a stock 280 with 260 electronics, 20" off shore mid, sportmaster with fat shaft. Powerhead has less than 50 hrs. on it. It was built by Jimmy Purcell. It also has a Brendan Power flywheel. I am starting to fish a lot of tournaments and need something with better fuel mileage. PM or call cell (813) 716-1094

Friend has an Allison GS and we are going with a new 200 xs ROS on it. I had a 2013 200xs ROS on an XR2001 RR. Very nice package.

Called Jaco's. They were the cheapest out of everyone we talked to. That's still a lot of money for a motor with no warranty! And they went up over 4,000 from last year!!!! What are they trying to do??

Personally before I went to a 200xs ROS I would strongly consider a top notch rebuilt 225 ProMax or even better yet a 225x.

I was really looking for the fuel mileage but I know I would miss the power. If your friend does not like the 200 ROS let me know. Thanks for all the info.

If you want grunt and fuel mileage put a 250 Pro XS on it with a 6" jackplate and be done with it. You would like it.

I was worried about liability with the 3.0 liter on the 2003. I am captaining for my sons highschool club. Since Allison specifically puts the 3.0 liter warning on their website, anything that EVER happened would blamed on that..... It was my original plan:/

Yeah and the SS 2000 nameplate had 90-130 hp rating!! I remember when A boat dealers were hanging OMC loopers on XB2002's. With the right prop to go with the 3l case and the motor tucked up a bit a 250 PRO XS would have to be sweet.

Yes... That would be a sweet ride. I think as long as the boat is over 20 ft. it is a recommended HP. and not a rating.

Randy they were running around $21,000. Rumor has it there will be a re-design of some parts and maybe some titanium parts added. The new price would go up $4000. Makes you want to get a wide beam boat and buy a 300xs!

Rock last year you could have got one for $17000 now I just heard around $23000 yikes I had a talk with there marketing manager last August and told them all they needed was a one warranty and keep it around 18000 and they would sell like hot cakes but I guess that didn't go over I am getting tired of us little outboads guys getting dumped on I know we are a very small market but sales are still sales

If you stop and think about it they have taken that motor out of the equation for the guy that fishes and the performance market. The guy that fishes out of a 20' Allison would be better off getting a 175xs for 1/2 the cost of a 200 ROS if his only worry is fuel mileage. The performance side of it is a no brainer. The 200 xs ROS runs great, for a 200, but a good ProMax or ProStock 200 EFI will run circles around it. It doesn't take a Harvard MBA to figure out the incremental fuel cost is negligible and Merc still won't give you an outright warranty on the 200 xs ROS. As Mr. Giesler pointed out they, Brunswick, are not listening. I bet they get puffed up when all the cool new aftermarket stuff comes out and folks have no reason to complain about their lack of interest in the little guys. Can't wait.

It's really too bad. I have a gen 1 on my xb02 and the combo is hard to beat for performance or mileage.

I was happily saving for a 200XS ROS, but then the price went too far. Now I'm going to stick with my 225 PM and figure out how to mount some jerry cans in the trunk of my SS2000. There's a big lake near me and I can easily run out of range.
