not dfi , had a Motorola brain that had been flashed to 300x curve tried to have it flashed to 250 peanut style injectors which i think are 20 ohm injectors brain would not reflash according to Eric simon he sent me another flashed to the 250 injectors and lifted limit to 6500 i ran the motor on the stand for a while it sounded good, throttle response was good! well i sold it with out running it on a boat which i never do and shipped it across the country and guess what it would not take off new owner checked every thing he is a responsible person with lots of electrical savy he checked all the components they all checked to book specs alternator, tps, he called me and i thought it sounds like ecm is putting too much fuel in it so he called simon he say Motorola ecm have so many perimeters that it wont flood the motor so i dont know any body ever here of this style of trouble the motor is running cool charging got good water pressure and in neutral it sound s fine but in gear it chokes itself out or at least thats what im hearing from the new owner HELP IM DROWING:nonod:

What boat/prop combo?

I had a similar problem a few months back and it turned out to be a single intermittent bad coil.......

I had a 200 2.5 EFI with the motorola ECU, i had just rebuilt it... Was running real rich and wouldnt get the boat up... Plugged a laptop into it... Everything showed up fine... Replaced the ECU and then it ran sweet...

Does the motor get up to operating temp? Possibly running too cold?

boat combo is 20 skeeter bass boat with 26 trophy motor was rebuilt all new guts, i ran this on a stand before he ever got it( for a good while )no indication of fuel flooding after i got the ECM re-flashed but i was not paying close attention to water coming out of exhaust to see the tell-tale rainbow but this is why i dont sell motors that i have not ran on the lake i just got lazy i should have dropped it on my Bullet . I too thought it was ECM instantly just from experience of rebuilding motor after motor year after year and most of them EFI you learn what happens!!! when customer called me with the problems i had the warrantee from Simon i sent with him i had no idea it would not run on plane Simon says it not possible but judging from the amount on pms im getting it happens a lot but folks dont want to start a pissing contesti can respect that position, BUT boy if it aint right it aint right

i checked all the coils before i figured out the 300x brain would not run on the peanut injectors and replace a weak one( coils i got:D)

big problem is there are not many EFI ecm for the 2004/2005 models they were mostly DFI

Any 2001 and newer efi ecu will work even the pcmbe0101 from a 2001/2002. They changed to a pcm0308m in the later models.

yes i know this from before i have a 225 dfi brain which wont fire the motor and a 280 consumer brain which wont fire the motor, so your looking at "reflashing" another brain with a 250 curve anyone see a problem with this procedure:eek: since no one else could put the stock curve back in it im locked in to the same vendor who says his reflash is fine no matter what mota says so im here again with no alternate plan

Did you replace the oil pump or is it still disabled?

TEXAS20225

it was all missing there is a bunch of wires just tied up in a bundle ,there are some plugs not going to any thing in that wad, and since i had never worked on one of these you could have left me in the car cuz i was not going to be any help on any thing

That's probably your issue. The ecu reads the draw from the electric pumps motor. Simon can re-flash the ecu to by pass the oil system or you can go to radio shack and buy a piece to put in line to trick the ecu. Last one I removed the oil injection I left the pump and plumbed it to just re circulate.

You might need to put a scan tool to see if there are any errors.

yeah i dont have a smart craft chip for my ddt i mistaken tossed the" empty" box it was in and you cant buy one anymore, plus im in texas and i shipped the motor to Pennsylvania not knowing it would not push the boat on plane because it idle great and had good throttle response but i was too lazy to put in on my Bullet and run it( the only motor ive sold i did not lake) test aint that the way it is, this is going to be something i would not know where to start but the man whobought it is a computer savy and know electric stuff ill try to get him to look here thanks for the help

Rodney( hot rod031483) just informed me simon wants another 650 to reflash his flash!!!!:icon_bs: Rodney i just found out i can buy all the parts we need to put it back for 200.00 so im not a economics major but this is a no brainer ( i think)

Todd D

I would think that putting the oil pump back would be the best.

If you want to run without it have someone measure the draw it pulls then you will know what you need at radio shack......

Did he talk to Eric or Debbie? Eric is usually pretty good about fixing issues of he already flashed an ecu prior!
