For sale is a 400 hp marine engine prop-shaft dyno by Land & Sea of Concord, NH USA. It was purchased brand new in the Spring of 2014. I bought it hoping to build my business around the idea that high performance boaters would be fast growing. Being my first year on my own, I had to focus my efforts to just plain making money and not advertising high performance. Now I need to purchase a newer pick up truck and am forced to sell this dyno.
About the dyno: It's Land & Seas 400 hp prop-shaft model #050-400-2K running their state of the art DYNO-MAX 2010 Software #801-200. The amount I paid them for the software and engine brake (absorber) was $10,285.00. I then needed to purchase a laptop to run the software on and custom build a water supply and return system (shown in picture as the large caged plastic tank and smaller aluminum return tank). The large tank holds up to 250 gallons of water and is pumped to an automatically controlled "load valve" #430-310. The load valve controls the amount of water sent to the absorber which mounts in place of the propeller. The water then exits the absorber and is allowed to drain into the aluminum tank. Inside the aluminum tank is a sump pump that returns the water back to the main tank. I have approximately $14,000 invested total, plus a lot of my time coming up with and building the water system and the trial and error of it all to get it just right. It is a package deal and comes with everything needed to hook up to any prop shaft. Just plug into power (wall outlet 15 amps max), and fill with water.
