I know the altitude makes a difference, but it seems like this should be a 100 mph boat.

i bought this boat about 2 years ago never could get past 92.4 been talking toevery body to find out what the hack the matter is. thought it coud be prop, set or riging or needed trim tabs . this thing acted so stupid pass 78 you really had to drive it if you wanted to stay in it. the boat that is. after searching on line i finnialy found the man that made it . send pic. to him he immediately called me back to say the bottom needed another step in it and he had a recall on the ones with O.B he said i should be in the 100s oh yea

Just a quick comment, but it looks like it needs more jack plate. Have you tried 8 to 10 or more inches of plate. You have to get those tunnels up in the air to get the speed.
But I agree you should be way over 100 with that 300 HP Merc.

Nice looking boat GLWS

If your running a sport master lower unit then you are not high enough. The center of the barrel should be about 1 to 1.5 inches above the bottom of you boat. Suggest to move you motor 1/2 inch at a time to see how she runs. have fun.

My experience with altitude and performance - An STV with a 260 that ran 111 at sea level ran 98 - 99 at my altitude - 1760 ft . My 22 Talon with a 300 x ran 101 in Florida - best I saw with the prop it came with - a Pro ET - was 93. I changed to a Bravo 1 and saw 96 - once. So at your altitude....... Bob Cruse.

Hey OK OK, where you running at most of the time around STL? We met down at KY Lake right after you got it. I had the Ally with the 225PM that chased you down from across the lake and we bull****ted in the cove by my RV site. I'm rigging a different Ally now with no time line to be done but plan on going up towards the city some when she's ready. We might meet up again. Got rid of my place in KY so I can boat around on different waters and around like minded boaters. They were too serious into fishing down there. lol.

Yes I will get hold hold of you when back running. There are a few Allisons in area I want to meet as well. Some people go to Kaskaskia river by New Athens Il and then also sounds like some action on Ill River above where it dumps in Miss river up to or around Peoria,Il. What local water to you do you run on?

They are great boats, but they are on heavy side. I bought my boat from Jim in 02'. Mine was a narrow deck layout. I ran into a similar situation with my boat when we put a 225 promax on it, around seventy ish it would porpoise front to back really bad. Jim said it needed an additional step in the pad. He cut the pad and I personally think it was too much. It would fall off plane way too easily. You have to realize Jim built jets and the outboard hull must have been an afterthought. My boat ran 87 mph CLE 1" above the pad with a 28 big ear. I think he could have tested on this hull and got a lot more out of it. I sold it a few years ago, I think it is in Texas now. It was fun and super easy to drive, I miss it.

That is my old boat it has 12" of set back and prop shaft was 1 1/2 above pad when I sold it,
I used to run in the low 100s That motor has a lot of hours I think it is tired, it lost 7 mph before I ever sold it

What makes the rear end come up is if you get off the throttle and trim down at the same time. Keep your foot in it when you trim down then get off the gas. Both at the same time can get exciting.

I PUT THE 300 ON IT. I HAD THE JACK PLATE MADE, AND MADE THE KNEE BRACE INSIDE THE BOAT, ITS ALL FIBERGLASSED INTO THE BOAT. SO NO STRESS CRACKS, I HAVE ANOTHER PROP THAT WORKS WELL ON THAT BOAT, I TRIED 20 DIFFERENT PROPS, THE MOTOR HAS OVER 600 HOURS ON IT. I WOULD FRESHEN UP THAT MOTOR, IT ALWAY RAN GOOD. BUT HAS LOST SOME SPEED OVER THE YEARS, THAT WAS BEFORE KAL BOUGHT IT, IF YOU DID NOT BUY IT I WAS GOING TO BUY IT BACK, ITS A GREAT BOAT, call me if you want more details.
