Is it feasible to get 25 more HP out of an otherwise stock power head. I haven't measured but, static compression can't be more than 8:1, and with timing at 20deg. or so leaves some leeway. I always run 89+ octane.

Light head mill and timing bump in order?

Thanks, jim.

Bass and Walleye boats did a 175 Merc hop up a long time ago. Compression, tuner, reeds, reed case. It was April and June 1996.

heads, 35cc, plus 11 peak hp, plus 10 at 3750 (lowest rpm recorded)
tuner, plus 14 peak, minus 3 at 3750
boyeson reeds plus machined 5 petal reed block, plus 3 peak, plus 12 at 6000, plus 6 at 3750
flowed intake, plus 2 peak, no change at 3750, plus 11 at 6500

30 hp total, wound up a bit stronger than a stock 200

I wonder if you can still buy tuners, heads, reeds, etc for an old V6. Practically it would be simpler to sell the 175 and get a 200. A 225 Promax, or better one of the unicorn 200XS ROS would be ideal, but not cheap.

I have a 200 tuner and exhaust cover for cheap. Shipping to Canada would Probly be about 100. I could sell the 2 pieces for 100. My carbs won’t help. Your reeds are gonna be same as a 200. Mosta the owner diff may well be the ecm.
