Every time I'm out with my T3 people ask what motor
I'm running. Its a very early 80's chrome 2.4 200.
Block is stock. Has about a trillion hours on it.
Most at 7k rpm's. Yes the front half is early 80's offshore
updraft case injection but nothing special.
I'm called a bull ****ter but I'm serious. This ain't no
diamond marine fire breathing 280.
Setup setup setup and my hull weight is #486.
That's gotta help a bit.

Hey Mike I finally did my 2.4 in on Saturday at the suwannee with Tom
I changed the lower out with another coned unit I had and now that I look at it the bullet was just a hair bit higher on the case than the other one It held great water pressure right up til the boat started flying and apparently my buzzer isn't working either it never seized but I lost a couple pounds in compression and got a loose wrist pin or something on #2 it has been a great one but time to rebuild

I know what u mean ... I had a 2.4 200 on a 05 mirage river racer with a 12" mid before I switched to a bigger motor ... And I had a guy in a Allison straight up call me a liar and argue with me and say it says 280 offshore on ur cowl ... I had to pull the cowl just to calm him down :) he had a 260 and I drove around him like he was standing still :)

Sometimes it's the loose nut behind the steering wheel that makes a boat exceptionally fast for what it is.

The early 80's chrome bores were great all around motors. My favorite. Would like to find a couple freshwater, all original shortblocks.
