I've had my J-Craft since 1987. We also have a Crestliner fiberglass fishing boat that we bought off an uncle in 1977. Bought my OWN first motor when I was 16 in 81. An 18 hp Johnson for 10 bucks. Still have it and it still runs.
Have my first BIG motor a 75 75 Hustler. Bought it in '83 sold it to my brother who sold it to my cousin. I got it back a few years ago.
We have a 78 140 Evinrude my Dad bought new.

What have you got ? I know some of you have had stuff forever.

Lets hear some stories.

I bought my River Rocket new in 95. Dressing it up a little cosmetically this year (Seats, Steering, Blueprint Bottom), jus so I don't get tempted to order a new one. Only been thru one extra short block with it, so far...Before that, I had a 91 STV Pro Comp w 2.4 Bridgeport...before that, an 82 (?) Skater 18 w/a 150 then 200 merc...before that, I drove other peoples boats

We've got a Merc Mark 20 (16hp?), which I guess was a military issue (maybe my uncle came home with a souvenier), that's been in the family longer than me (45 yrs old). It's not runnin at the moment though.

I've had my 15 Allison since 1975, first with a '73 shortshaft 1500, then a 1500XS, then cut the transom down and put a T3 on it and later a T2X. Finally I built the transom back up and put a T2 back on. It's a resto project at best now, and probably not worth doing, but one of these days............... At least it's stored inside now so it's not gettin' any worse.

My grandmother bought a new 1954 3 HP Evinrude and it is still in the crawl space under the cottage. We retired the motor as its mean time between failures is about 5 minutes, but we will never get rid of it. My brothers and I put tons of hours on that motor when we were kids. Now everytime we fix it something else breaks, so it sits unused but honored.

I've had my Virage since 93.

I've had my Lotus since 84. I was torn between sports car and Hydrostream and I went for the car. It took 9 years before I could have both toys.

My grandmother died a few years ago at 99. Her last words to me were 'who are you and why are you bothering me?' She was a great woman and it was sad the way her last years went.

Bought my Vector in 1985 when I was 16 years old and I still have it. It's a 1976 and I would bet money that's it the roughest Hydrostream still one the river anywhere.

I have a 1958 PolarCraft and 1958 5.5 Evinrude that my Dad and I bought new. I also have a 1959 ArrowGlass, 1963 Starrcraft, 1982 Tidecraft Spitfire and my newest boat is a Gator I bought new in 1982. Motors that I still have besides the 5.5 are a 1961 75 Scott, 1963 MK 20, 1958 Merc 650 and 1982 90 Evinrude. All of the motors are still running and our grandkids use the 58 5.5 often. The 75 Scott is a low hour motor that was on Baymaster that I drove on North Lake at Dallas for Shipp's Marine in 1962.

I still love the old boat and motors, especially the fast ones. There were some that I should have not let get away.

I've had my V-King since '91. It's an "85 model and I bought from the original owner. He had only used it part of one season and it had been in impound for several years after he ran over a boat load of "me keeps". He finally won the litigation, it was released, and I bought it right away.

I just noticed, this is a resurection of a really old thread. Cool.

I have probably owned 40 boats or more. I have 8 right now. The one I've owned longest is also the only one I bought new. 14' Jon bought in 1975. Just went thru reconditioning and has a fairly new 25 merc hanging on it.

If family counts, Grandpa bought my 14' Alumacraft new in 64 in Brainerd, Mn. The Johnson 6hp in 66 or 67 I think. I learned to ski behind it with Dad driving. I've run it every spring, summer and fall since.
