Custom aluminum drag plates. These plates are approximately 19.5" long and 16" wide. All the nuts and bolts are provided all you have to do is mount it drill the holes the bolt it up we dont drill the plates anymore because its easier for the buyer to put the hole where they want to. The Plates also come powder coated, black is the standard color but I can do them in just about any other color for an additional charge it usally runs about $20 for the materials and thats all I charge you for whatever the materials cost. All the plates are made to orderand usally takes about a week from the time I get the order until you recieve it some may take a little longer depending on the circumstances. I can make them in just about any shape you want I would just have to talk to you and figure out what you want. The plate in the first pic are $135 including hardware and shipping to the lower 48. The Triad style plates are $240 with hardware and shipping to the lower 48. Please give me a call if you want to discuss the plates (803)513-5429 and my email address is [email protected] if there is no answer please leave me a message and I will get right back to you. We also do all kinds of custom fab work if you have an idea and dont know where to get it done give me a call if I cant do it I might be able to help you find someone who can Thank you for looking at my plates. I USUALLY MAKE THESE TO ORDER AND DONT HAVE THEM READY TO GO SO IT TAKES ABOUT A WEEK THANKS

Finally got a chance to mount the plate and caught a decent weekend to go to the river. On my setup, if I ease into the throttle coming out the hole it blows out and was not much, if any, difference in the Allison plate I had on it, but once I matted the throttle on holeshot it was a definite difference between the two plates. Rockets out of the hole with it matted! Very pleased with the plate James, thanks again Bud!

Do you have a comparison with the Bob's Plate? Your's has a huge difference in appearance, for sure. What about the difference in your two plates?

I just added over 200 lbs to the transom by removing the 200hp Yamaha and adding the Ficht 250 and Detwiller jackplate, "j" plate and SS transom support. I was going to add negative trim wedges, but just mounted the Bob's plate I've had laying around for years.

I haven't gotten the boat in the water yet as I'm still rigging it. What has been your experience or that of everyone who's used them?

So my setup is a 1990 Hydrostream Voyager (usually loaded for bear--skiing) and the '04 Evinrude 250. Thanks.

Instigator, which one did you get? Is there a concern about the Triad Plate catching water at speed?

The triad style plates that I make are geared toward drag racing and I dont think its what you need The other style plate I make would probably be a much better option for you and they seem to work better than a bobs from my experience and what I have been told by others

the BOB's plate is a waste of cast aluminum...and if you tighten it too much it will break the cavitation plate on your lower unit.

So I use my Stream for pulling me through the ski course. It seems as though I want the drag profile to launch flatter if I'm alone in the boat and pulling my friend. I just purchased a High Five and even Bennett Trim Tabs (off CL)that I'm considering installing. I'd modify them to have fins to help reduce my pulling the back end of the boat side to side as I cut around the turn balls. All of this is academic until I get the injectors cleaned and start the engine.

I appreciate the view that Bob's plates are junk and the crack warning. Has there ever been testing or comparison of these plates? Sounds like a great article for John Tiger. He might have done one already. I bought mine over 10 yrs ago and if I remember there were few non-plastic West Marine type plates around. 15 yrs ago I negotiated a cross the "pond" exchange with a machinist-- trim wedges for a custom plate. My end of the deal was upheld and the brit failed to deliver. (Cost as much in shipping as the purchase).

Pat Simmons' custom plate behind his old Quartermaster was an amazing piece of real estate that he fabricated. It would have been more like a swim platform for me. The Bennetts promise an out of the way at speed but greater square inches at takeoff than any cavatation plate add-on. Weight and junking up the transom are the negatives.

Your product looks like a quality piece from your pics. I'd like to have some comparisons before I buy. I guess I have some Pyro in me. He has an exacting way about him and seems to employ the scientific method.

Thanks for for letting me share. Ok, it is 5 am and I need to leave for a 7a ski behind some Mastercrafts.
