I am in the progess of trying to plumb stacked tanks behind my bbc in the stern to gunnel tanks ...each of the transom tanks has their own fuel dump...I can probably plumb the bottom tank with no problem but the top tank will be much taller then the other tanks....I currently have the gunnel tanks plumbed with 1/2" lines to a tee to the filter then to the fuel pump...If I come off each stacked tank with a 1/4" line teed to a 1/2" line connected to the current gunnel tank 1/2" tee...I 'm thinking the gas will want to seek it's own level...Any ideas....maybe checkvalve ? where to place it?

A few pictures would help here.
Unfortunately none of us have enough information to help with any decisions here. Party with not recognizing the need for four tanks. Why can not the system be simplified or if you need both the transom tanks and side tanks why not use separate feeds with manual valves?

sounds like you have this setup for increased cruising range! I'd leave the stacked tanks shut off with a valve until the fuel can be emptied into the gunnel tanks.simple and safe!
make sure there all grounded sounds like an add on!
