1993 Mercury 2.4 245hp. Factory CLE Lower Unit. Compression is 128-130 in all cylinders. Motor is in good condition and runs great. Also has new Holley Fuel Pump.
Just had it serviced at a Mercury Performance Dealer. The motor is still on the boat and I can demo. $3500.00. Call me at 704-361-1523

Looks to be a nice motor, and a very good value if in good shape...it would be a 2.5, not a 2.4,Chris

From the pictures it's a 2.4 so I'm going with it's not a 1993. Is a good deal at that price.

Yes,I spoke a little soon... 245 Bridgeport EFI wasn't built in 93,2.5 245 carb motor began in 91 I think...anyway no 93 2.4's.Still a nice motor and value,Chris

2.4 block

:iagree: would make it 225HP.

Definitely 2.4. Could be a carb Bridgeport or a ModVP. Air box not correct for either one.

looks like a 225 carb bridgeport. the 245 was a horn motor, the mod vp had velocity stack plate and no air box and had oval port exhaust. right?

Horn BP's were 240HP. Think the newer 89-90 carb motors also had bridged ports.

My 90 Bridgeport Sales Brochure states the 225HP has bridged exhaust ports. :)

That motor is also a 5 petal reed front according to what I see in the pics.

Still a good price for all that.

2.4 5 pedal motor...

Good eye on the 5 pedal. Trying to remember but pretty sure the 2.4 Bridgeport carb motor was 7 pedal.
Probably a ModVP which could be oval port or Bridgeport. Definitely from mercury performance with it being an alodined block.
Still a good deal.

There were replacement blocks and powerheads manufactured after the '91 changeover. Maybe there's a '93 date on the block?

Don't think any 5 pedals were. If it's a matching block and front half pretty sure it would be a ModVP.

Looks like 2.4 carb motors were 5 pedal, unlike the 2.5 carb that had 7.

Use a bore scope to find out if it is oval port or bridged. You can always pull a head off to check too..... looks like a bridge port to me. & peddle..... they were rated at 225 but most are 240 Hp on the dyno.
