Picked this boat up this past year, cheap 3500 with 200 venom. Have swapped carbs and throttle bodies off a 99 225 ho that I have. Getting ready to build up the HO. Needed 1 cylinder sleeve top starboard side, otherwise blocks in good shape. Also have a spare 97 225 venom.
. Boat runs 62 right now 6in plate 2.5 below pad 4 29 batterys. Shooter prop. Looking for a little imput. I,,, ve had other boats. I live in bullet land, always wanted a 201. Just like the ride and room. Looking for a low 70, s boat. Keeping the rpm, s in check. Oh yea, first time r and this is addicting.

What kind of rpms u turning on the topend and whats the holeshot like. Shooters are at best ok. Will benefit from a tuned up Raker or Renegade.

If the tropht was a plus you prolly shoulda played with the PVS plugs. Anyways I would definately find a Raker probably a 26 and she should run pretty close to same rpms maybe loose 100-150 rpms but boat will lift much better and should gain a little on the topend. Like I stated before a shooter is ok at best if u get a chance try the Trophy again and play with the PVS ugs. The Trophy is a MUCH better prop thanthe shooter n for that matter so is the Renegade

Had two trophy. One was a blue test prop. Small holes from factory. It would actually plane with a very light load. The other , I changed the PVS plugs back and forth. No good. Use to run a raker on a old 396 javelan I had. Thoughts on a renegade if I can get my hands on one?

Hey bud there is a 26p Raker in the prop section for sale for a good price. Racer7x has it. Thought about u when I saw it. It would benefit you cause it will do you good on either motor u put together. With your current prop your just not gettin enough bow lift.

I'm curious how this went. I've got a 96 hydra-sport 205fs with a 200hp rude. The hull seems to be the same. Like to know what you learned.

I found set-back and bow-lift to help mine. None of the 4 blades I tried impressed me on the top-end. 24p raker and 25p fury both showed promise.

Not much progress this past winter, did pick up a 26 raker. Running 3.5 below pad with 6in setback.wouldn't lift at at wot. Let off and bow would actually lit at 5500 rpms. Floor it , start digging again. Weird. Did pick up 5 mph though. Now what.......10 in plate!. Figuring I can get at least 70 if I can keep it from slipping at wot.

Ok now ya gettin somewhere just aint there yet.lol. I had a Tidecraft do the exact same scenario. Now on mine having the prop worked did the trick. The lift and ride attitude was great till u nailed it. Even after new mounts ,up n down on the plate went right back to 3" below pad and had my Raker worked. Basically cleaned it up and added cupping to the blades. After that she hung her nose up and ran 3 mph faster loaded. No more dropping. Old style rakers have been notorious for loosing there cupp due to blade composition

May try that since I put my old four blade back on. Only have 125.00 in the raker right now.

I bailed on the rig. Sold everything. New project. Picked up a 461vs ranger with a 175 hpdi.low hour motor. 100 hours over idle! . For a 18.5 boat 65 seems good. Wish it would run that at 5600 instead of 6000. Lol.......then i,d be wishing the same at 70! Gonna leave it and enjoy it. Hydro Tech is always an option.
