Several thousand. That motor still has a ton of life in it yet. First thing I would do is have the injectors serviced for peace of mind that it has been done, and change all the fuel lines. Other than regular maintenance, you should be good to go. I have an EFI with over 3,000 hours on it and had the heads off this spring... cylinders still look immaculate.

Get a merc dealer to run the service history on it. May be ready for a new compressor. See what has been up dated. I have one that has 2000+ on the clock and still runs great.

It's on my guide boat, so yeah I go to work with it.... It's an 05 225. Gotta maintain the crap outta the things. It's had several compressors and coils, oil pump, alternator etc. Still has 105-107 compression. So it's not as strong as new.... Merc prem plus oil since new.

thanks makes me feel better . don't know a whole lot about these motors. I have a chrome bore 2.4 200 with so many hours I could not even guess how many.
