I'm looking for a fresh or recently freshened clean freshwater EFI powerhead, preferably updated with top-pin pistons. 225 ProMax, 260, maybe even a 2.5L 200. May also consider a stock all-nik 2.4 Bridgeport if there's one out there. NO JUNK... I'm looking for matching halves, stock heads, and no major block modification. May also consider a complete 20" motor if the price is fair. Willing to take a road trip if necessary. Message me. Thanks! :)

-Chad

Tough crowd...

Maybe I should just resleeve my Bridgeport. I was hoping to avoid tearing down and rebuilding a powerhead myself.

I have a 1996 pro max 225 fresh rebuild first time it was ever built. The person that owned this motor passed away. Number 5 cyclinder was bored 15 0ver but I had all cyclinders bored 15 0ver. ALL new pistons, bearings, chris carson reeds, injectors redone by tony brucato, heads are stock 38cc heads,up dated ecu a32 by mercury. The motor is stock and has original 1.87 cle lower unit .Has a brand new mercury quick silver fuel pump inside vst tank. That pump was 700.00 All original. Tell me what you want to spend. Call 606-694-5250. Fresh water motor, I live in ky.

I have my eye on another ProMax, but I still have an open mind. Going to buy something soon. :)

I lost a ring locator pin. Ran great the last time I used it. The next time I tried to run it, I heard the trouble as soon as I cranked it at the ramp, and shut it down quickly. I have a gouged cylinder wall, and munched-up piston and head. Everything else is fine. I'm not interested in sleeving it. I will be parting it out soon, after I find its replacement.

Send it to somebody that can re re the aluminum sleeve and re nic it ? Cheaper than buying a fresh 260

Yes, but then I would have to tear it down, ship it out, re-assemble... I don't have the time for it. Our daughter will be welcoming a little sister in February, and I want to have a simple powerhead swap completed by then, in hopes that I'll be able to use the boat some next summer.

I'm leaning toward a 2.5 200 EFI... I can't afford the cost of a 260, the wife and daughter can't stand the loud Weldon pump and horn EFI, and I get sick of charging the battery after every trip out with the 15 amp system. Maybe I'm getting old, but a reliable and family-friendly 80+ mph boat might be good enough for me at this point. I'd love another Bridgeport, but it needs to be fresh, and for the right price. A 225 ProMax would be ideal, but there's nothing available right now.

I'm making a deal sometime in the next week if nothing else suitable comes along.

Lee Sanderson has a VERY low hour 200 pro max he may let go of. 804-706-4100

I might call on that, thanks for the tip. Today I de-rigged and un-bolted the powerhead. It's all ready to lift and swap.

You'd do well to buy that 200PM from Lee. Straight shooter and the best of the best reputation, and a genuinely nice family.

Second that Lee Sanderson is a good guy to deal with

Still looking for a powerhead. Apparently it's impossible to find a motor anymore.

I'm about done losing sleep over this. I'm seriously going to sell this f***ing boat if I can't find a re-power over the winter.

Everybody's hoarding the good stuff, and the rest of it is selling before I can even pick up the phone.

Chris, Thanks buddy!!
Yes, he actually did call me yesterday and we spoke for while, nice conversation!
Conclusion of our conversation: I offered to help him in anyway possible even offered a payment plan of his choice if that helped so he can keep it and to get him back on the water with his family. I'm here if I can help....

Good conversation indeed. Thanks!

I was a day and a dollar late to buy Moomba Steve's BP long block. I have one more local option to check out first...

Tony's (tux974) stuff is always pristine condition and you won't find a nicer guy anywhere to deal with. He is a true asset to all of us on scream-n-fly.

I'm in a better financial position to raise the bar a bit. I think I'm going to focus on finding a good 260.

Here's what I want: Powerhead only-- Stock porting and heads, top-pin pistons, all-Nikasil, recently re-built with low hours.
I have a Brucato PCU, so I don't really need the stock ECU box.

I cant say enough good stuff about Tony, Truly he has been a huge help and mentor to me for years now. I finally was able to buy something from him this year! But honestly if you have the $ you cant find a better Promax then a Tux promax!

I think I want a 260. I still want to spin it up and drag race occasionally without major RPM limitations.

Hi Chad - I have a brand new 1998 260 20 inch offshore tower with a left hand sportmaster. That's right - brand new - it has been started many times on the stand to keep it oiled up inside but never been on a boat!I am going to post it on Scream and Fly shortly - so call me if interested. I realize you may not want an engine this complete. Bob Cruse 306-445-3477.
