I have always set-up 3 and 4 engine boats with the motors being @ 18" centers ...a buddy of mine just bought a 3 engine boat with the motors @ 25" centers ....with the center engine mounted high with a water pick-up on the transom...I am going to go through the motors before we run it...but I just wondered if anyone thinks that it could be as fast being set-up that way...Motors are Merc's....

what hull is it? what motors?
if alien cowled the centers have to be further out
as the old 260style cowls were narrower and commonly woulg go at 18" centers
I have an offshore v bottom boat
that I have trips on it with 260 style cowls at 16 1/2 centers
to get props as close as possible for the 26deg v of this skinny 6'.6" hull

The alien cowling is 22" wide so they won't fit on 18" centers.

the motors are pre bridgeport 2.4 mercs, the boat is a 30' corsa..deep -v...& don't the cowls hit when there are 16 1/2 centers....

the martini and my hull are similar
I have a 27" Kevlar excaliber with triple offshore 260+ motors
closer together they are on these hulls
helps the ride and also keep water in the 2 outer motors
as when over 70 when hull lifts props get high
no cowls don't hit,,,,,will do full turn with the side steer
I have no bungies on sides of cowls,,,,,,just bungies on front & rear of cowls
with offshore upper cowl brackets
this gives 1" closer
then when I made my bottom pans
I offset the mounting plate 1/2" from center on the L & R motor
that gives another 1/2"
1 1/2" total closer pr motor 3" toal closer together for all 3
and this hull is set up for 100+ and wave jumpin
