I still remember thinking I must have smoked some crack the first time I saw these.

Amazing idea and even more amazing that it even worked. Thought some of you Merc faithful may not have seen these before and might enjoy them.
Could be a trivia question......
"What was the last Merc in-line 3 or powerhead run in two totally different classes, etc, etc " :cool:

Wow I haven't see one of these in a very long time and it in Wisconsin to the funny thing was these actually ran good scary

Yep. I would have lost the bet on that one.
What I want to know is, what were the guys drinking when they came up w/this idea??
I love the mechanics of the damn thing actually working. Used to be a fairly strong class in its day.

The WI Grand Prix had a bunch of these back in the the day. I think most of those guys worked for Merc. They really flew on those tiny tunnels. I watched them quite a few times in the early 1980's.

saw them also , back when boat racing was fun and affordable.
