I can't yet, because the boat is on a rack at the marina where I work and with all the snow around it I don't think it's going to be hard getting any good pics. But once I get it back in the lake I'll get some pics up.

I got a 16' Sutphen with a merc 115 inline 6. I got a Merc 150 inline 6 but I am not going to put that on till I sell the 115. I have to finish rebuilding the gearcase for my 115 before I put it up for sale. I do my boating on Lake Hopatcong. Were do you do your boating???

I live right on the lake. It's a bright red Sutphen with a 78 Merc inline on it. I think I've seen your hydrostream on the lake. This summer if I see you I will try to catch up to you. No thanks for the gearcase I got two already and tons of parts. I think

I'd love to attend a gathering, but I haven't heard of any in NJ. Is there a speed limit on Hopatcong on Weekends?...Weekdays?

there is no speed limit of lake Hopatcong during the week but on weekends its 35 mph.

Hmmm. That speed limit kinda kills the fun, at least for a weekend gathering of hotboaters.

trust me that lake is full of idiots on weekends i wil not oat there on a weekend or during the week. a lot more fun. cops on the lake seem cool i have driven by them doing 80 mph in my v-king (which is now for sale) and they leave you alone as long as you are not causing a dangerous situation.

The lake is deffinetly full of idiots. Someone told me that it is the most populated lake in the US. It has the most registered boats to it. I just don't understand how it could have more boat registered to it then any of the great lakes. And every year the boats seem to get bigger and bigger. I know of a couple of 35' boats on the lake. Why would someone have a 35' boat on the lake. It's not as fun as a 16' outboard on the lake. My bosses 22' seabold is fun but a 35' boat can't be any fun on the lake. Lake Hopatcong needs a boat size restriction of maybe 24'. That would get rid of a lot of people plus there won't be 3' waves anymore. But thats only my oppinion.

There should be a gathering on the lake after labor day. Cuase then I believe the restrictions are lifted.

I'd say let's meet in August sometime at the Jersey shore. Maybe others would join us. Our last boat was a Hydrostream Viper with a Rude 140 and the bays can get kinda rough for that size boat, although the rubber duck thrives in the ruff...we often go offshore.
The Mullica river is a great choice for smaller boats. It's scenic, quite long, not too crowded, and close to AC....one of favorite spots.
Lake Wallenpalpak isn't that far either and has several campsites with ramps and gas and no speed limits that I know of.
