I guess you have heard of the guys at the boat shows using Pledge on the boats. I have a couple of friends that use it on their bass boats as well.:)
Lately I have gotten my computer to record CDs. I have a bunch of them and when one is scratched badly, it is done. So I am making copies of all my favorites. After I finally got all the hardware conflicts straightened out (lol), I came upon a CD that skipped badly. You know the one that you dropped, or loaned to a buddy? I decided to wax it with car wax first. After waxing it twice, it was better, but still skipped. Then I thought I would experiment. With its wonderful lemon scent, this magical funiture polish with cleansing conditioners and bright yellow can....... Could this help to fix my CD? YES. It went off with out a hitch! Not even a pop! Now I have a newly recorded CD off of an old scratched up one. I made another back up too!:)
Maybe I should relabel the cans and sell them as a miracle CD scratch repair! LOL!:D

I am not sure if this works on CD's but i have used it on my cell phone display that was all scratched up. BRASSO polish. I was amazed by the results.

if Pledge can clean up CDs... AINT NO WAY IM USIN IT ON MY BOAT Theres plenty that DO use it, but you cant convince me its good for anything. If it takes scratches outta CDs how can it NOT scratch the chit outta gelcoat? Stuff is packed fulla silicone anyway aint it? I made a deal with my wife, the Meguiars is for my toyz and the Pledge is for her furniture.
The day a man cant afford a $10 bottle of wax for a $20-30k+ boat is the day he needs to sell it and take up golf!

I tried that on a CD today that skipped, it doesn't take the visable scratches out, but it did take the skipping out of one song, however a song further into the CD still skips so bad that I still have to push the "next" button

I used to polish clear knobs for radios at a place. Used a die grinder with a cotton buffing wheel and toothpaste or bees wax. Took the CNC lines out fast...even while the knob was spinning in a lathe the opposite way.:) Have also used a wool buffing pad and the right CC compound to do windshields on sleds. Never get it hot/dry or it can burn with the big buffer. Stop as soon as the product is gone with the die grinder. I have used the CC polish/cleaner auto stuff on CDs by hand and it worked enough to play...but you got to rub a while by hand. Did it by buffer once...just put polish on the CD and held it on the spinning pad for a couple seconds. It worked fine. I like the Meguires dual cleaner/polish stuff that breaks down. It works great.
I stay away from silicone stuff except good car wax on cars. That is bad news around paint in your place, or down the road on your car. Any liquid silicone seems much worse rather than a wax that dries. I do use it in my window tracks very carefully is the only thing, just silicone spray with a tube on the can. I use 3M prep team hand polish on my boats and cars too. Non-silicone and is real fast to use. Have had good luck with caranuba on my truck for keeping the dirt off.
Get this: in FL, my father inlaw says everyone uses Mop-n-glow on their trailers in the park to make them look good all the time. I got some...will have to try it. I am also going to try that shower spray stuff on the boat you use after you shower when it's wet. It works in the shower good.
And duh, I found Tilex Mold will remove the black mold from vinyl boat seats in a flash:cool:

Buffer works, just be careful because it melts real easy if it gets hot. I keep it wet, then go very lightly for the final polish when it drys.(when the polish goes dry)
