Bring a snorkle!! :D Had a buddy here in Mpls that put a 125 Merc tower on a 12' GW Invader - same concept, same result!!

I think Racemore's definition of "freeboard" is the same as mine....

Craigger, Stock was 235. I would be afraid I would scare some of these Merc guys if I speculated what it is now. .....LOL! I would like to put it on a prop dyno just for kicks.
CompKing, that is a neat placard. I was just going by the dimentions from the Coast Guard manual. Mine does not have one at all...:D

when my buddy 6'5 220#s and I were running in the ICW and we turn a sweeping corner and aimed into the wind that was blowing 20 kt's smacking the white caps bumping the trim up flat to the throttle stop when the boat touched a tall swell and climbed into the air about 6' so long that the guy fishing in the turn 1/4 mile in front of you stands up in his boat and drops his rod and his jaw then I look at my buddy already dead white as the boat starts to go left and the stern falls as i turn right the gearcase hits the water straightening the boat and sets down just like it left is getting close to the maximum power rating. That how you tell if the Rating tag wasn't on the boat when you got it.
That was with a small bore 235 rude.it was a couple mph faster than the 225 Looper.Yes it snows in Florida.Maybe it was fast cause I painted it black.

"Did I exceed my POWER RATING "
Naw, you just exceeded the WEIGHT rating. Now if it'd been a Merc THEN you would have exceeded your POWER RATING.
Here's an example of exceeding the power rating, The boat is a 15 Allison. The motor started as a complete T3, but ended up with a modified 2.4 with 6 carbs and nitros. This picture is from the late 70's. The guy sittin' on the gas tank is a newspaper reporter who was doing a series on various motorsports hobbies. I made him change his britches.

Lonnie, as a matter of fact I do still have it in a garage somewhere. Unfortunately, it spent about 20 years outside under a tarp and the condition is dismal. If it weren't for the history, I'd abandon it, but it's on my never ending list of things to do. I built the transom back up and put a T2 on it after I quit running it in favor of a decked over 16' er. Since I've got several old champ housings now I've thought of whacking it back down and puttin' it back just like it was in the picture. That little 15' boat ran 106 at the NOA Kilo's in about 77 or 78 and that was haulin' ass back then.

What kinda idiot would ride on a fuel tank? I guess he would be the first one to check out.
RM, you still have it? You are worse than me!;) Well, at least you have a bunch of cool stuff compared to my "junk", as the X use to refer to it as.
Oh yea, What are those two thing hanging off of the left side of your boat?

That is hauling ass now in the same boat.Keep it on the list to put back original.Need to hook it up to the Camaro and put it in the Raceman Museum. All your collectables under 1 roof.Man you could make enough to pay for the roof and somebody to keep everything shined up since you can't stop working long enough to run your boat.:D Where are you in Ga. anyway?

That pic is great Raceman! He is looking at the motor thinking,"That little thing is gonna make this boat go THAT fast???" And you are thinking (laughing) about what a ride on the gas tank he is going to get...."Sure, you will be fine up there....":) :) :) Priceless.
You're gonna have to hire some help in your shop there;)
