Basic yamaha outboard mods to get extra horsepower

Hey, just wondering about any basic outboard engine mods to get a few extra horsepower. I have a 75hp Yamaha CV and a mate of mine was saying that it is possible, but what needs to be done in order to get the extra horsepower?

Not knowing what year engine you are working with, the 75 is built on the same engine family as the 90 horse. Look up what is different to swap over.
For one the carbs from the 90 will help but there are other differences. I do not know that engine well enough to say just what to do but I would start with changing your engine to as close to the 90 as you can then start modding it with compression increases and such.
