Must be YOUR room. What kind of amp is that?
Capt.
I keep some props in the house (ran out of space in the garage)..............:D
The amp is a Dr. Z MAZ 38 212
Works well with Humbuckers. Bad to the Bone with Single Coils ala Strats.
Check them out at www.drzamps.com

Check out "BAD CAT" amps if you can find 'em.
makes pretty good amps. The Dr. Z seem to have better overall tone to me. The Z will not will not "Shred". They were not designed for that. They have a sound all their own. Killer Rock and Blues ala SRV, ZZTop, and AC/DC tones are possible with the DR. Z. The amps like pedals and favor single coil guitars.
Here's a couple of good amp lines to check out:

Speaking of SRV. I see the obligatory Tube Screamer, but I can't figure out which Boss pedal that is next to it. :D :D
I'm wokring on a Tube Screamer copy that gives me the ful gamut of Tube Screamer tones. Kinda like a modeling amp, only in a pedal. It'll be switchable back and forth between TS-808,TS-9, and Turbo TS. They're all basically the same, with a few minor schematic and component differences. It's something I fiddle with when I'm not working on cars or boats so right now it's a pretty handy dust collector :D
Someday I'd like to be able to afford those boutique tube amps.
 I'll bet they sound schweet.
I had a blast today airing out my guitar cases over at Skip's. One thing's for sure. We need to practice more often. individually and as a collective group. There was plenty of rust, but we could come together every now and again and sound decent. My fingers are sore and that's a good thing :D
Glad you guys had some fun.
The Tube Screamer is a modified unit by Analog Man. The Boss Pedal is a Blues Driver BD-2/Super, also modified by Analog Man.
The modded TS9 has a very clean boost and will bring a tube amp to a very warm and sweet sounding sustain without being tinny or an ice-pick in the ear. The Blues Driver has less of a mid-range hump and a bit more available distortion. Both of these engaged at the same time will give you the "Texas Flood" tone with a stock Strat.

Might give you some ideas...........................
Y'all take care.

I think I have the stock schematic for a Boss Blues Driver somewhere in my collection of stomp box schematics. Thanks for the link. After I finish this post I'm gonna take a look at it.
So you're playing into the BD2 which is driving the front end of the TS9, which then feeds the tube preamp (I'm assuming 12AX7's). Thinkin about it,you wouldn't think that overdriving an overdriven signal wouldn't sound all that hot, but I don't doubt what you say. I sure would like to hear it. Then again, I suppose if you're just using the BD2 as a boost into the TS-9 to get it to break up sooner since the stock strat pups are relatively cold, that would probably sound the way you're describing. (Sorry, I'm thinking as I type) :D
Very cool. I've been noticing your posts, you've got a pretty sweet gear collection and a nice boat :D
Rock ON!!!
You are right. I usually play through the TS9/808 then to the BD-2. I was just exploring some other settings to see what other tones I could get. I like it better with the TS9 in front, but I did manage to get some pretty convincing Richie Blackmore power fifths going.
Preamp has 12AX7s which are very gainy themselves. Which is what stock single coils need.
Here is another link you can check out:

Take care.
With two stages of gain drive, I'd imagine those single coils gotta hum like hell. I'd have to put a gate at the end of the chain before the amp.

My pal just GAVE me a Yamaha SPX-900 that was not working.
cost me 20 bucks to fix and now...well I guess its mine....Its more of a studio multi-processor but it does have some spacy guitar effects...which would be cool for some colour work!!
Anyone got a manual on this thing our were I can find one online??
CHAD any comments???
Nice clean setup MTCM:D Interesting AMP!!
I got a post a pic of my "RATS NEST" sometime!!!
