Check out this great on board video of the Yamato powered C Stock Hydro class that really shows you what it's like out there . I sure do miss my hydros but my knees don't . Pick up the run to the start at around 2:40 on the vid . Hold your line cupcake !!:D:thumbsup:

that was an intense moment as the lane squeezed in from both sides.

My D-Class hydro had some battle wounds (I was young and fearless back then). Now we have a canopy to protect us so the bumping factor isn't so (in your face), but it still makes your heart step up a beat or two. There is going to be seven or eight boats in our class next weekend and everyone wants the inside-it will be interesting to see who wants it the most. Its nice that Scott owns a fiberglass and paint shop (to him, fixing a rub is like tying his shoes).

Nice work hanging in there, while getting squeezed. I rode some motocross when I was young, but never got used to having someone leaning on me, that really takes a different kind of person. I stuck to desert scrambles, much more space between me and the next guy.

Good job.

To be clear this is not my vid but I raced this class for some years and it is TIGHT and sometimes used as an entry level class which it really is not as you can see by the vid . Bottom line you better be read to mix it up and you better have some speed which is the only thing that saved the OP's boat from getting fully squeezed which really sucks !!:D

Wow does that bring back memories! In my day B stock runabout was like that, intimidation was the key.

Screw sitting on your knees like that. If it had a seat, I'd be all over some of that.

Go for it dude, as once done..? in yer blood forever. My older bro had a baby Switzer with a 20H merc, when I was only 5ish. Middle 50's. But next door us the lake? "Ernie". Had a hydro, with a 20 H. BEAST once on plane? Rocked this young kids bones to the core. Been at it now 59 years, and STILL have a restored 8' "Minimost" on my front porch. For sale. (Getting too old for the kneel down stuff). And on the pix I posted.."69R"? Thats the top radar speed. That little chit at close 70 mph? Like a gokart doing 180..(damn grin is worth it!).

What is that new class for 15hp on race boats kids? DAMN! Give the kid a thrill, and stand back and watch. I love small fast boats!

Killer! You know he's fast when you see all those patches on his arm :o

For all the guys that think we need to run 120 to be anybody, you need to do a heat in that boat, in that traffic.
Nothing better!

Well part of the driving program on these boats is being able to shift your weight around to control the flight of the boat . In windy conditions you can go from being as far back as you can get and still hold on to the wheel and throttle on the down wind chute , to sliding forward so you are on top of the wheel to keep from blowing over heading into the wind ! My D Stock hydro was like that when I switched from the 55 - H to the 44 - XS . Great ride !

Yep like decades ago, my first go kart as a kid. 60 years later?..still own one! Sorry but small fast chit, way more fun than a 200 mph 40 footer as the "little stuff RULES on fun!" ;):D:thumbsup:
