Looking for help with setup for a friend. He says his numbers are 6000 RPM's wot, with 74 mph.
He has a moderatly modified 83' 150 XR2 with a 14"-27 pitch prop. boat has hydralic trim tabs and a 6" maunal jackplate.

one person does fine, loaded it doesn't want to plane. Looking for help or similar setups.

Must have 1.87 gears if he's really running those speeds. Highly unlikely with the factory 2:1 gearcase. That would explain the loaded holeshot problem.

He needs a second prop for hauling friends-- Maybe something in the 22-24 pitch range.

FYI... The 150 "XR2" didn't come around until 1985.

Try a planing foil. Bob's, Allison, Georgian BAy, etc. there are lots to choose frfrom a Bob's True Tracker helped one of my boats plane.
