Any info on the 24' 78 Sonic twin berk jet. Got with no motors (had 403s). Has a cuddy cabin,no porthole windows, just a ceiling hatch, also has teak swim platform. Steering is rack type with a tie bar from one pump to the other. Trying to get a photo of how it looked originally. Thanks. Hope to repower with stroked 350s.

There is a board member here that is the "go to" source for all Sonic 24 information. I'm sure he will see this by tomorrow and respond so just sit tight.

Never heard of one w/jets? Any pix's?

Don't think Sonic built a 24 that far back either or was even in business yet? I've owned two but both were O/B's.
I've seen I/O's but no jets.

My guess it was something else w/o a title and they rolled it under a Sonic title.

Measure the beam. All the deep vee jets I've seen were 7' or 7 1/2' where a Sonic is 8'.
Was a 24' deep vee, narrow bean boat w/twin jets over by me for sale recently.

Pix's will tell us a lot but I'll be several cold beers it ain't a Sonic.

Your right Instigator, the Sonic 24 wasn't built by Sonic yet. It came along in the lineup, in the mid to late 80's. Ever been in a V-hull(of any make) with a big-block jet in it? I have. It just does'nt work. The faster you go, the more often the boat leaves the water, even over the smallest of waves, loosing its water intake, loosing its thrust, & over-reving. Its pathetic.

W/twins being moved further out/up I'd imagine it being even worse.

I have seen factory jets in boats that weren't jets. One that comes to mind was a late 70's dusky cc with a jet and it was factory only one I ever saw:eek:

Had a look at the title and the Hin starts with Jcl. Looked that up and says Jcraft. Boat has a cuddly cabin. Will try post pix.

I was thinking 79 was the first year for the 24 sonic.Still used the Donzi deck and no cockpit liner. Yeah pics

Did some checking based on your post. The donzi doral with the motor area deck liner is identical. So it may be a late donzi early sonic boat. I tried to post pics but not sure if im doing it the right way
