Might seem stupid but I can't find the trim sending unit to hook my gauge to. Did they make them without a place for one? It is a 1998 EFI L Serial # 0G787321 does that tell me something. Does anyone know the part number I might need.
Thanks for any and all help.

I think your motor is a 3 ram trim. If it is it goes on the end of the pin through the top of the tilt ram. There is a slot in that pin that engages with a tang on the sender.

Thanks, I took off both plates they has two 5/16 bolts in each side. Looked like the right size to put the trim sensor in but both sides were flush and had a hole in the center with threads in them. That is where I thought it might go. Any other ideas/
Thanks Ed

I am not finding that serial number on any of the catalog sites. I suggest you check the number then do a search for "Mercury outboard parts" and you will find several dealers that have the parts catalogs on their sites. Look up the trim sender and check the exploded view.
