Ok I know there are some Nitrous GURU'S out there I have a question about plumbing up nitrous on a 280 mercury. I had a Nitrox setup on my old 2.4 BP motor but I sold it now I am thinking about putting a small shot 50-75 hp range on my 2.5. I am thinking about putting fogger nozzles in the air horn and be able to change the HP settings by simply changing the pills like on a automotive system has anyone out there ever tried one like this ? Please don't leave derogatory comments as I am only thinking about doing this and if it is feasible any input would be greatly appreciated thanks James

Im curious too, as a way to easily construct a system like this and have a "safe" 50+ on standby....someday when I have enough money burning in my wallet to repair the "whoopsy" that may happen, as well as the initial setup costs because this would b a fun little thing to play around with on both my mercs and omc's! :reddevil:

James, talk to Ernie @ Compucar in Augusta GA. He has a great fogger system for a horn motor.

dbug,
Brother your right there in the heart of ProNitrous racing ...
Compu-Car Eddie is one of the sharpest nitrous guys I ever met. A wealth of information there . Also, Switzer Dynamics just opened a shop in the Carolina's . He is more into the Pro Mod thing , but good parts close by .. ;)
I was kind of undecided whether I wanted to put a couple of nozzles just under the air valve and let the charge follow the natural flow , or dedicate a nozzle per pair of cylinders. I went with the more direct path because I think that at a certain point the fuel would fall out of suspension and flood the bottom holes and lean out the top.
I used annular nozzles which are flush mount when using a weld in bung. So there is no air flow obstruction when not in use. And I made a couple of simple one into three Y blocks.
The way the number's work out , they will go from 60 to 200 HP without getting into really small or stupid big jet patterns ..

Chaz I saw your setup yesterday when I was looking for something that is sweet and if I had your style of intake I would follow suite. Thanks Nelson I didn't know that Eddie was doing outboard stuff I helped Ed Hoover of the Pro Mod fame lol for about 10 years and am familiar with all the "Nitrous" surrounding us around here lol I will defiantly give him a call thanks and hope to see you and Pat in a couple of weeks for our Poker run race !!!!
