Hello everyone, Names Dustin. First time poster long time reader. This place has helped me a ton.. I am now starting to rebuild my 89 2.0L V6 mercury. who do you recommend I go for parts. Oversize pistons , gaskets ect.

I am only doing this once so looking for the best piston choice. Pro-v , Pro-marine, or should I just go forged Wiseco.

Also I found a small crack in top bearing cap that holds trigger. Cast number 1159-9608-c Does anyone know were I could get one. I know I can fix it with the tig but if someone has one laying around I would gladly send a few bucks for it.

Thank you
Dustin

Welcome to the site. I would chose Pro marine over Wiseco but if you do go with Wiseco be sure your machinist knows to give you an extra thousandth or so over. Forged pistons need a bit more clearance. I may have an extra bearing cap. I'll check when I get out in the shop later today.
