Is the Suannee around Fanning Springs good to go when it gets below flood stage? Are there any other times its not recommended to boat in that area? Thinking about going up next sat. Thanks for any input. Tom

Yes ....river is way up right now, but when it comes down its the best running in Florida...lots of springs as u run north to the Santa Fe, Santa Fe is absolutely beautiful run it all the way up to the itchnatunckny

awesome river, lots of springs, but becareful of logs and such right now. im not sure its even open. you need to find out. It was still closed memorial day weekend and there were some treeeeeesssss floating

Thanks for the comeback. According to the water management website most of the river is now below flood stage with no restrictions. I'm not sure if that means its OK to do some running up there. Hope some of the local guys chime in. Still planning to go up next saturday to stretch the legs on the Cougar. Tom

Sturgeon can be an unexpected problem now through November . Google Suwannee River Sturgeon for more info as well as My FWC .com . Not a joke .
