Hey guys I have a 1993 Merc. 2.5 245hp motor that I rebuild over the winter and it's running great but I would like to lean out the idle a little bit. It loads up a bit going through no wakes zones. I noticed the carbs( factory non pumpers) have air screws. Is turning them out going to lean it out slightly. I have them set a 1 turn out right now. Top end jetting seems good. I checked piston/ spark plug burn. Thanks mark

In is leaner out richer, they are fuel screws not air screws.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm going to re check where they are at and then turn them In and see if it makes a difference

My 245hp never liked to idle, but always cleaned itself out after idling though our 3/4 mile idle zone.Never had the screws out to see where they were set from seated.

Never hurts to dial them in with a carb sync either. I always set the top two carbs (5 & 6) a little fatter than the others.
