Hi:
I am about to install a new Teleflex GPS speedometer into my Hydrostream Vector. The gauge will fit into the old spot in the dash fine but I was wondering where to mount the receiver/antenna. I was thinking about the front of the splashwell. Are there any suggestions or recommendations. I have 25 ft of wire/cable so anywhere on the boat is within reach.

Thanks

can be mounted under the dash [fiberglass] out of site if you so choose!

That's where I put mine on a Stoker with no problems. Does any body know if they will still work mounted under an epoxy balsa cored deck.

I made a square box out of a very dense and hard upholstery foam and mounted the reciever into that box with a removable bottom lid. Open box was mounted to the underside of the deck. The reciever was mounted into the box. The box is a tight fit around the reciever with a hard foam lid mounted with velcro. Has worked great for years and you can get to the reciever quickly if needed.

Best wishes, Carter Powell

There may be a problem with the signal getting through carbon fiber and it for sure won't go through metal. Any kind of fiberglass and core, including wood if dry should be fine.

So You Mount Them Either To The Floor Or Build A Box Mount It To The Floor And Mount The Receiver To The Box? And It Reads Through The Underside of The Deck? I Guess My Question Is, Does The Receiver/Antenna Have To Be Touching The Underside Of The Deck?
