Question -

Can a 2.5 L Sport Master's prop shaft bearing carrier oil seals be removed and replaced without removing the bering carrier? (This is a fat shaft version.)

This morning my prop hub's thrust boss (the end of hub which bottoms out on the prop shaft) completely cracked off allowing the prop (Lightning ET 30) to thrust forward against the bearing carrier and mess up the outside seal. Had no idea anything was wrong till I lifted the boat on the lift and later saw an oil slick. Found lower unit leaking from prop seals.

Myself I wouldn't do it with out pulling the carrier. But I have all the tools to do it the right way.

And the correct seal installers, never mind getting the seal lips the right way.

You try a new hub on that flywheel??
