Hi guys,
I have a SHO 250hp rechipied to 300hp. And I wonder which is more suitable for this engine, Hydrostream Ventura 2 or Vector, I have these two boats in sight to buy and I doubt the engine weight abouts 510 lbs.
What do you think of this?
Regars from Argentina!! :smiletest:

what year SHO do you have the early SHO did not pin the main bearing and will spin in the block.and will have bearing failure.they do it more often when you turn them up.I just did a powerhead on a SHO.

well my cousin Jordan runs an 3.1 yamaha on his Valero (Vking Bottom) and it runs on Rails quite a nice set up.. that motor weighs 505 i believe. but it all comes down to the weight balance on a vector since its 1 foot shorter than the Vking.
i had a vector but only a 2.6 yamaha so i cant help you there. if the Core is good and the Transom is good i would try the SHO on the Vector in a heart Beat.. the Wedged Pad on the Vector can only help with a heavy motor. and im sure you could play with ballast weight to get the balance right i bet.

Keep the setback to a minimum! Bob's Machine 4" is probably the least setback you can find for that much horsepower/weight.

What kind of boat would be suitable for this engine? I want to participate in a race that is about 1000 km crossing rivers. I have the possibility import one from united states. Must not exceed 20 feet because it would be difficult if not save it in the container. Can you get a kit to build one here in Argentina?
I look forward to your comments..!!

Honestly for a 500lb motor neither one of those. They were designed for 300lb 150 hp motors. Let alone the fuel weight you are going to have to carry. If you are stuck on a Hydrostream I'd be looking for an HST.

For marathon racing...that boat is hard to beat...unless you have an SRV :).
