Thinking about the bench/bucket seat in the rear of my ProCompSki and would like not to use snaps. Also was considering individual panels. Back, sides, bottom- rather than the one blanket like type.
Any ideas of just how to attach these panels?
They probably would be closed cell foam which the type I am using is just short of styrofoam. I could attach something more robust like the divinylcell but don't see how that would help.
Figure velcro would get blown out. Snaps might work if I could attach them to the backs somehow.
About the only idea I have is screws through pleat areas, but I wasn't going to have pleats. Not sure if this would be good method anyway.
I don't really have to remove them and could glue them in if there was no other way.

I'm having one of the 18ft Liberators done right now. I used 1/4-3/8 starboard. It can be stapled to. I used t-nuts on the back rest. They are built in studs put into the starboard. Any upholstery guy knows what it is. On the bottom, I put 2 t-nuts on the back wit wingnuts and snaps in the front. That way I can remove it easily if I want. On the front I still used snaps, but wrapped the seatback with purple vinyl glued down. The snap go over it. I can post pics later in the week when I get it back. See-ya, WILDMAN

I do it mainly to take them out if it's raining. Keeps them from getting waterlogged.

Thanks.
Unfortunatly I'm in the winter- job is killing me with over time doldrums. Several projects to do simultaniously and none of them are getting done. Partly because I can't stay off the puter.

I had some 2" wide velcro at work, and the stuff will hold pretty good. I would not hesitate to use it if you have the area to use enough. It was stick-on stuff though. I don't understand completely what you are doing, but maybe you could use some kind of channel to hold the panels in place?
I had an old boat, and the back seat was hinged at the front so the whole seat flipped forward. That was nice to get into the back with. It was made like a heavy folding chair with aluminum tube frames. I think the back of the legs pinned to the floor to hold it down.
