Just throwing this out there. I have enjoyed being able to run the motor up higher on my Voyager, but I have been told that a coned case will be best on both of my Hydrostream hulls. My CLE is a 2 hole in good shape. It has been trouble free the couple of seasons I have ran it. Looking for a 200 case with 1:87 and a quality cone job with lwp done on it. 20". Thoughts?

Put a cone on the CLE, Quinten. On your Voyager, it will be just as good as a coned 200 case (profile and speed-wise) and you'll retain the heavier-duty carrier and guts. A coned 200 case is great and hydrodynamically better than a stock CLE when used on a v-bottom like yours, but it won't last as long.

Thanks John. There goes my mouth in front of my brain again. I honestly wasn't aware there was any difference between the two internals. 98v21, I may have gotten my cart in front of my horse. I'll send you a private message if I have any questions.

Uh, one more thing to concider Q, you run in salt and the CLE has steel drive and prop shafts where the stock 200 has stainless.

The CLE has a 1.25" prop shaft. Forged alloy too. That's why they chrome plate it. Running high prop heights can be an eventual cause for a broken shaft on a stock 200.

Some stock 200 cases have the large front bearing, but none have the HD carrier and 1 1/4" prop shaft.

A coned CLE is slightly longer than a coned 200. This gives you a higher aspect ratio. I have both and I noticed that while coning the 200.

I had good luck scuffing the propshaft and driveshaft and spraying it with a decent clear coat on my cle. Just prep it right and the clear will stick. See you this week Q
