MOTORS ARE SOLD SOLD SOLD
This is going to be confusing but here goes. I have 2 Mercury 1500's for sale. First is a 1977 1500 XS serial number 4602298 with matching louvered cowl and low water PU gear case. It has a Late 1974 J Block serial number 3912654 power head mounted on it. Power head has new wiring and runs great. I also have a Late 1974 15" 1500. This is before it was called a 1500 XS and before the low water pick up lower unit. It is a 15" Mid and Gear case with Louvered Blue Stripe cowl with the matching serial number 3912654 for the power head mounted on the other motor. I Told you it is confusing. I have the 1977 J block also. It is all apart and looks to have a weld on it. If I sell both together I leave everything the way it is. If I sell one complete running then the power head needs to go on the matching serial number mid and go with the blue Stripe Cowl. I have the titles on both motors. One was bought new and one used. One dated 1977 and one 1978.
I also have 2 more 15" gear cases. One XS Empty Gear case, XS Empty gear case with broken skeg. Race style trim, inline wing plate for pulley cable steering plus a whole lot more.
