I plugged a couple of things in the search engine on the board and found what we were talking about on the phone earlier.

the ten commandments of marine propulsion.

1. Thou shalt only stroke twice.
2. Thou shalt not inject oil in a performance motor.
3. Thou shalt not covet they neighbors Mercury.
4. Thou shalt treat all others as thou wisheth to be treated including the less fortunate who owneth motors of white.
5. Thou shalt recognize Karl Kiekhaefer as the one true god and Mercury as his son.
6. Thou shalt recognize Black Max and Mariner as disciples.
7. Thou shalt not arrange less than 6 cylinders nor shalt thou arrange more than 6 cylinders in a V configuration lest thou flirteth with the white devil.
8. Thou shalt not meddle with injection systems thou cannot pronounce. Thou shall play with EFI, but not Ficht, Fucht ,or whatever the hell it mayeth be.
9. When thou prayeth or pay homage to the king, thou must face in the direction of Lake X, the holy land.
10. Thou shalt always have fun, regardless. If ther is no fun to be had, one must rid himself of all things marine, and taketh a break.

Amen

Thanks Pounder.

Needed some Spiritual Uplifting, and nothing like a review of the Holy 10 Commandments to lift the Soul.

All face Lake X and say 10 Hail Karl's

What good is a big Johnson if:

A. You don't know how to use it.
B. It doesn't do what it's supposed to.
C. It can't hang for the duration.
D. It won't rise for the occasion.
E. It explodes before you're done with it.
F. You can't keep it up.
G. You can never get it wet.
H. If there's something smaller that works better.

Bombardier has announced it's new accessories and supply outlet. It's called Bomb P&S. Parts & service right?? Nope Projectiles and shrapnel.

OMC - Proudly making junk pistons faster than Wiseco. :D

Propaganda?? You sound like the Tobacco Industry there Woody Wimppecker. That being the case, then just call me.......truth.

You've got it wrong. it's not "Thou shalt prevail", it's "Thou shalt remain hopelessly optimistic."

Oh and those pictures that the other minion of satan, Charlie M had posted in another thread are what I'd call propaganda. The reason you never see parts broken like that on your motors is that either A, they never run long enough to induce metal fatigue. or B. They never run.

Listening to you spew is like listening to Rap. You hear it, and you know what the guy is saying, you just aren't sure what the point of it is. :D :D

This is why I told you to bring that poor 20" CLE to me. I know its not in the care of a loving family. If you brought it here I can guarantee its future happiness.

You just bring all of that non-running Merc stuff down here and I'll gladly show you how to work on an outboard without a hammer. Oh can you bring a couple of those OMC's too? I just got my foundry fired up and I need something to melt down into ashtrays. OH wait nevermind. I'll just get with you after you've fired them up :D

Woodco, one thing i'd like you to ponder. Since Javelin is the entry level make and Triton the premier, why is it that Javelin's come rigged with Johnny's and Triton's are fitted with Mercs? The writing is on the wall and the signs are everywhere. Looks to me like you need Hooked on Phonics to help keep you from stepping on your Johnson. :D

More Horse#@*! !!!!!! They have a good deal goin though
Buy a boat and get the Merc for free !!! :o

Answer this then ...... Why is the used boat market flooded with them ???? At almost 1/2 the cost and the poor guys still can't
sell them

Yeh Right on Rick !!!! ;)

Boy it's getting deep now!!

Woody are you smelling what your shovlin? You MUST have your boots on up to your chest!!!:D

Tom

ShorePounder

The only thing the boots could do is separate the two different kinds. :D :D

Hey Woody, should we talk Ranger and mebbe even Ally?? I've seen ONE Ally with OMC front and rear.

Saying that the popular choice is wrong is usually the last act of defiance from a minority.

It's okay woody, somebody's got to push them bowriders, jon boats, and pontoon boats. Hey after the Force went away, didn't JohnnyRude end up the preferred pusher on the transoms of Bayliners? I guess they figured the transom wouldn't have as much stress that way.

Mercury is truly the small block chevy of outboards. You can hate them all you want, but the fact of the matter is, you can't beat them parts availability, longevity, and user friendliness. Everyone's had one or two that gave them fits that holds true on both sides of the fence. Yes, there are guys who can build badass OMCs that will bring a tear to your eye, just as there are guys who can build a small block ford that eats mice three times a day :D But the bottom line is this. Day after day and dollar for dollar, boat for boat, if you're gonna drop dime on outboard performance, you'll get the most for your money out of a Merc. I know what you're thinking and just STFU. :D

Look at all the work that's gone into making cross-flows perform. Yeah you can get them to do it, but does the end truly justify the means??

Thus endeth the sermon.

Pounder, remember that those guys up North only get to run them for 2 or 3 months.

They have 9 or 10 months to build and then don't have to run long. That's why they don't have many Mercs up there. They don't need to go fast for long. They do need something they can work on all Winter long.

gosh i have to admit this is really some good material pounder.. i'm sitting here cracking up laughing at my computer like an idiot!!:D BUT one has to wonder where do you get all this free time to come up with stuff when one doesnt even have an operating vessel

just ribbin you you know i cant let you get away with all this stuff and not have something to say!!!;)

woodco
03-03-2003, 07:43 AM
Seems your like a family dog that will never be housebroken
or taught any tricks

As for bassboats you have come to the right place for info not
opinions . We host roughly 40 tournaments on our lake here
every summer.Come on up take a stroll through thru the parking lot at weigh in time !! You will see basically the same ratio of Merc
Omc's and Yammy's on the Ranger's , Gamblers,'Allison's,Nitro's
and Basscats .......

There is no Merc domination !!! Sorry if Omc should worry about
any motor in particular it would be Yamaha ! not Merc ;)

The only market Merc is dominated by is the low budget (that
means cheap Pounder) package deal boats where the guy is
basically told this is your boat and motor combo take it or leave it !

Now onto Mercruiser ..... I love them !! You wouldn't believe the
money there is to be made fixin them ;) They have no longevity
constantly leaking gear oil into exhaust and blowing top housings.
And they supposedly upgraded the " R " series ?? The Alpha 1 is
the same ! They just changed the outside features
But The Bravo's are great ! Just find the average boater that can afford one .
