If one oz of aces two stroke additive takes 6 gal 87 octane gas to 96 octane rating, would one oz take 12 gal 87 octane fuel to 91.5 octane? That's the requirement for the 300xs (91). Be nice if it works that way.

If your motor says run 91 i would still run 91 and mix aces to that. It will protect you in the event the gas you buy isn't 91 still. No sense in taking a chance. If I were to take that chance I would add the recommended 2 oz per 6gal to no less than 89 but only in a pinch or emergency type situation not all the time..

It would probably be OK to run 87 but I wouldn't have the nerve to try it thats for sure!! That would be sorta asking for trouble I think.

i've run it with 89 octane in an emergency when i had to buy fuel from a marina, but wouldn't recommend it.

:iagree:Whipper this is a good post---- Why take a chance with all that time and cash on a nice rig! The aggravation is not worth the money! Use good fuel and if you can make it better. JMO;) Gary

That additive, what is it. Is is actually raising the potenial output of the fuel or just the anti knock property . If it's 89 with anti knock it's not going to give the same performance as true 96 or what ever the rating your trying for.

Its good stuff. expensive but goes a long way. Its been tested on some motors with 180+ compression on hear back to back running pump gas and aviation 110 gas. Motor ran same with pump and aces as av gas. military uses it in all there gas powered units that sit for long periods of time and wear fuel is suspect. no one really says it hasn't worked for them? Its like added insurance. i ran it for years and going to again. no real performance gains just no real performance losses either. on that high comp rave motor they tested it on that was impressive!! Motor should have blown up on pump gas but didnt. And they didnt baby it in the test!! think it was runs to 10000 rpm!! if you have a great source of fuel then you probably don't need it anyway. but it might be cheep insurance for that one time you buy gas that has been sitting and loosing octane.

Building an old inline crossflow with 185psi, have two heads the more shaved one will probably get it up even higher. Will get some and keep it on hand when I can't get the 100 LL. Been using 91 no alc Shell or 93 -94 with for years with a 165psi cross flow and 36* timing , never ever had a miss. It likes the 100 LL, real smooth but some say that the actual weight of the av gas is a bit heavy for low altitude and should be blended with high test. Something about the way it carries the oil mix. I'm not that close to the edge to have any concerns.Always use amsoil 50-60:1 never had a worry. The additive will it take away the corrosive properties of todays cat piss , I always drain the bowls and the pumps if more than a few days.

seems like I as always replacing a sleeve and piston every year costing me $800.00 and my time ,after using aces 2 stroke I have not had any issues with that area so
I,m assuming it has helped

I've been running Aces on 2.5 260/drag setup 185psi heads 93 octane timing at 25 degrees with alot of success. Not telling anyone to try it but personally I've done well. It's on a light STV and I always run 22-24 pitch props so I know that helps too.
