Loosen the side bolts for up/down. Hydraulic trim.
So the main advantage is the # savings. I would like to use one of these on a ceasar Thunderbolt but mating it up to an optimax 1.5 I-3 to a can adapter with a sportsman lower I would be using this in the ocean and possible local drags more of an all around fun boat.I have raced inboard 5 litre and have a good feel for this but not a lot of time with newer outboard tech any thoughts and guidance appreciated

I raced fixed shaft inboard Hydroplanes for a long time being able to trim and jack a prop many take for granted most of my use would be on the ocean with air entrapment hulls a very fast way to find the right prop and make the boat safer in rough and shallow water also more bang for my fuel dollar the whole package!!!

For drag boats this mid is the real deal hydrologic up down is good for champ boat but this setup is the best for drag boats light strong and very safe

Don't the drag rules prohibit up down while underway only trim? I think you can have a jack plate but it must be locked out.

Just put this one together a few nights ago, it actually has 2" more setback built in and is anodized black instead of powder coat!!

we just started up another run on these, I'm making 2 extra but there usually all sold before the job finishes, so if you want one now's the time!!!

im building a short shaft now for my 300x and will be using a factory 15" 2.5 clamp assy with a taylor mid but would really like this instead of the factory 15" clamp assy. my question is, because im running 16" of setback now, 6" of which is a detwiler hyd plate and will keep, can you build one of these that would total 16" of set back? i'm also running traditional hyd steering. is this possible yet?

The 15 is next, going to be a bit yet. I have been pushing for this for a while now and I think we have it figured out. To get it to work with the hydraulic steering isn't simple. I also want the geometry changes that I made on the 12" to also work with the 15". This is proving to be extremely difficult.

How about a 15" for side ram setup? Any easier?

I'd like a 15" to shave any weight I can off factory saddle bracket.

Yes a lot easier, but it isn't worth designing twice. So the sea star design is a go. It will work with side ram.

is there any "extra" negative tuck built into the 15" version(for the 3L taylor can) over the factory 15" 2.5 clamp assy? im running the 2.5 15" and the taylor mid on a 300x. does your clamp/plate assy come with everything to bolt right up to taylor can? also running the seastar steering. when will your entire assy be ready for purchase?
